OTHER CLASSICS

This lovely category is going to cover liqueur cocktails, fizzes, and pretty much everything that doesn't fit into the other categories.

Some of my favorite cocktails of all time are below (talking to you Amaretto Sour).

'Do You Drink?'

Of course I do, I just said I was a writer.

Pimm's Cup

Pimms, Cointreau, lime, cucumber, mint, ginger ale

2 oz Pimm's No. 1

3/4 oz Cointreau

8-10 mint leaves

3 cucumber slices

*optional half a strawberry sliced

3/4 oz fresh lime juice

ginger ale

Place all ingredients in a shaker, except for the ginger ale. Gently and briefly muddle. Add ice and shake.

Strain into a glass filled with ice cubes. Top with ginger ale (should be 1-2 oz).

Garnish with a mint sprig and cucumber slice.

Amaretto Sour

Amaretto, Bourbon, lemon,

cane sugar syrup, egg white

1 1/2 oz Amaretto

3/4 oz Bourbon

(recommend Old Grandad Bonded Bourbon)

1 oz fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz cane sugar syrup

1 oz egg white (usually one egg)

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Without ice, shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add ice and shake for an additional 8-10 seconds. Double strain into a Nick & Nora glass.

Aperol Spritz

Aperol, Prosecco, club soda

2 oz Aperol

1 oz club soda

3 oz Prosecco

In a chilled wine glass, fill half full with crushed ice. Add the Aperol and club soda. Drop in an orange wheel. Add more crushed ice until glass is 2/3 full. Then add the Prosecco. Top with crushed ice.

Garnish with an orange slice.

This cocktail doesn't normally come with blackberries as pictured. I just needed to use them before they went bad. But you're more than welcome to add them!
